CREATING ONE COMMUNITY

The guiding principle of ‘One Community’ is paramount in Toyota Australia’s new workplace at Sydney Olympic Park. This new environment creates a community from two separate subsidiaries and Davenport Campbell worked to ensure that both teams felt at home in their new environment.

Working collaboratively with both teams, it became clear that a space that encourages a culture of social inclusion would be key to the success of the project. As a result, the communal and informal spaces function as the social glue between the two businesses and set an inclusive tone that is maintained throughout the workplace. In contrast, the team-based areas have been catered to suit individual business operations to offer function and privacy to both parties.

Toyota’s brand guidelines are thoughtfully integrated alongside soft curves and a neutral palette. Raw textural elements are used to reference the local context, and the kitchen features a relaxed residential style that welcomes teams to make themselves at home.
