A MISSON TO KEEP MOVING

The new Toyota workplace in Altona, Victoria, embodies Toyota's mission of ‘keep moving’, reflecting the company's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and employee wellbeing.

Guided by a design concept based on the moment of ignition when the spark plugs ignite an engine into life, our aim was to create a workplace that sparks creativity and promotes energetic connection among employees.

The workspace incorporates informal and enclosed meeting spaces, breakout areas, social hubs and flexible workpoints to facilitate different working styles, support hybrid working and encourage collaboration between teams. These dynamic spaces are balanced by quieter areas for individual work, providing opportunities to focus, rest and recharge.

It was important for Toyota to provide a connection from the office space to the Parts and Distribution Centre. To achieve this, new internal windows were constructed to ensure the warehouse could be seen from the office and breakout spaces.

The space has an industrial edge reflecting Toyota’s engineering origins, softened by upholstered elements and warm tones of green and ochre to enhance user comfort and provide cues to the natural world.

With the freedom to choose where and how they work best, this stunning new workplace for Toyota is a perfect example of how design can energise connection and spark creativity every day.
